Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

Ten Tips for Your First Vacation With Your Baby

By Jen Stoddart

Planning your first vacation with your baby is essential to the success of your trip.

Here are ten tips to follow to help you when planning your trip.

1. Food and water. If you are going to a popular, well-developed location like Cancun, or a major European city easy access to water and food for your baby will not likely be a problem. If your vacation entails travel to remote areas, or even on a cruise make sure that you know how and where you will get water and food for your baby during the trip.

2. It will be easier to treat any issues that your baby may experience when away from home if you pack the right medicines with you before leaving home. It is much easier and more effective treatment for sore tummies, low grade fevers, diaper rashes if you have the right medicines with you - rather than trying to find a drugstore after your child starts to feel under the weather.

3. Think about your accommodations more when you are traveling with a baby. When it was just the two of you traveling you probably didn't spend much time in your room-or in your cabin if on a cruise ship. Things are different when traveling with a baby. They will be napping and they will need more time in the hotel room or cruise ship cabin. Because of this you might want to upgrade your room to one that has a balcony. The balcony gives you more room-and it also will allow you and your partner to better enjoy the extra time that you will be spending in your room.

4. Plan for time for each parent to head off on their own to see the attractions or sites that they are interested in. During those times the other parent will be caring for the baby. Plan upfront when these times will be and work towards an equal split of time so that there is plenty of time to be together - and time for everyone to see or do what is important to them during the vacation.

5. Get the baby out of their stroller. Having a great stroller for your baby while on vacation is wonderful. Keep in mind though that baby will probably be in their stroller for longer periods than they are used to. If your baby likes to sleep in their stroller (like ours does) be careful that they don't sleep too much. It may result in them not being able to, or wanting to sleep at night.

6. Takes direct flights when flying. When possible avoid connecting air flights. Flying for babies is not always easy. The change in air pressure during take-offs and landings can be hard for babies.

7. Travel bed. Bringing your own compact travel bed with you ensures that your baby will be sleeping in a comfortable and safe environment. There is no guarantee about the quality of the crib that the hotel will provide to you when you arrive.

8. If you are renting a car during your vacation consider bringing your own car seat. That way you will know how to install the seat in the rental car and you will know that is a safe and comfortable seat for them to ride in.

9. Make sure your child has the necessary vaccinations. See your child's doctor six to eight weeks before you intend to travel, especially if visiting developing countries.

10. You will need many items for the baby during the trip - they won't take up much room when you pack - but you will want to make sure that you have everything that you need. Make a list of the items that you will need for the baby during the trips. And review the list before you go and make sure that you have everything with you that you will need.
