Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the united stated. He served his country from 1861-1865. He was recognized to be one of America's most famous presidents as he made a lot of milestones that left a mark in America's hearts and minds. He was the one responsible to lead the United States of America through the great crisis of American Civil was and managed to put an end to slavery. He was also known to the first American to be assassinated.
The life story of Abraham Lincoln was so inspiring that it was proven to be the most adapted life story of an American President. There are numerous plays and movies dedicated entirely to him. The Lincoln Fest 2009 is a Festival organized by The Champaign County Historical Museum in commemoration of the 200th birthday of the American President. It is held at Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Illinois as a 3-day event.
The three day event will feature films showing the life story of the American president from his early years in Illinois up to his rise in Presidency. There are also discussions among the filmmakers during movie play intervals. The movie will feature the inspiring and heartwarming tale of this poor boy who grew up to be one of the most celebrated presidents of America- just because he refused to give up.
Indeed his life story has been an inspiration for most of us who encountered difficulties. His failures included: losing and failing in several jobs, being kicked out from his own home at a young age, having his engaged sweetheart die, and lost a number of times in the elections. His failures did not force home to quit. Had he allowed himself to quit, America would have been a different country.
