Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

Safari Equipment For Your Packing Tips

By Jane Farasi

For your ease and comfort on a safari adventure, it is important to have with you the correct safari equipment.

There are different variations in the types of safari one can take ( trekking, mountain climbing, wildlife, camping, beach etc), but you will find that there will be some basic packing that applies to all safaris.

The Basic Requirements

- luggage and a backpack

- a sleeping bag if camping or hiking

- insect repellent, anti malarial and a mosquito net

- toilet bag containing your personal toiletries plus: sun-block or sun-tan lotion, lip balm, wet wipes

- an important piece of safari equipment has always been a flashlight

- camera and accessories

- binoculars, sunglasses and scissors or a pen knife

- scissors, a pen knife or both

- water for drinking and water purification kit

Clothing and footwear needs

Make sure the clothing you pack is light and easily maintained in absorbent materials. Avoid jungle fatigues and colors like red that are too bright or white that does not go well with the dust. Khakis, browns and sand colors are more appropriate.

Besides the t- shirts, shorts ,safari trousers and sundresses, bring with you :

- one warm and one waterproof jacket

- two sun- hats

- a good pair of walking shoes

- one pair of sandals and bathroom slippers

- a bathing suit

Don't forget

Do not forget your prescribed medicines in good supply, as well as pain killers, vitamins and antibiotics if you need them. Pack a small first- aid kit.

In general, this is the basic safari equipment. Your travel adviser will let you know if you need more than this depending on your specific safari.
