Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

Guide To Greece : Must See Places

By Jim Avery

In this part of our guide to holidays in Greece we focus on the best locations to visit...

Greece is relatively small but it offers a wide range of places attractive to travelers. The islands are the leading tourism destinations, but the mainland is also worth visiting. Greece's five most popular tourist destinations are Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Rhodes and Crete.

Its antiquity and influence as the country's capital and largest city make Athens a very rewarding destination. The city has many historical sites, as well as major museums and galleries. Most of these are clustered around the central city. Athens also has many sites of natural beauty - parks, hills and mountains - that provide an attractive and restful escape from this sprawling city's din and bustle.

The country's second largest city, Thessaloniki, lies in northeastern Greece. This city has a continuous 3000-year history and well preserved architecture, much of which is included in UNESCO's World Heritage list. Its old town has narrow cobbled streets and historic houses built in a variety of traditional styles. The city's long, attractive seafront promenade offers panoramic views of the bay. Thessaloniki also has a very active nightlife and a wide range of quality restaurants.

Lying off Greece's northwest coast, the island of Corfu has a mild climate, beautiful beaches and many historical sites, making it very popular with tourists. Compared to other Greek islands, Corfu is very green, having more than 2 million olive trees. Mount Pantokrator in the north of the island is more than 1000 meters high and has spectacular views of nearby islands.

Crete, Greece's largest island and the southernmost one in Europe, is bathed in sunlight for much of the year. It's mountain villages, long sandy beaches, rocky bays, quiet coves and a big selection of beach bars and nightclubs make it a popular travel and vacation destination, as do its abundance of wildlife, plants and flowers, many of which are unique to the island.

Rhodes, which has been inhabited since the Stone Age, has a landscape compromised mainly of hills and low mountains, and is considered to be one of the most beautiful Greek islands. The northern coast is renowned for its lively tourist resorts, whereas the south, quieter and simpler, offers an extensive medieval town and archaeological sites.
