Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

What to See and Do During Your Family Holidays in Austria

By Isabella Olsen

Austria is not just the homeland of famous classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as it is widely known. It is also a country overflowing with a rich cultural heritage, beautiful natural scenery and an interesting history, which is why it is a great idea to have family holidays in Austria.

To make the most out of your trip to Austria, one of the things you should do is to pay homage to classical music. You can catch an opera being shown at one of the many opera houses around the country. Better yet, watch the opera at St. Martinstrum, the world's largest floating opera stage, for a truly unforgettable experience. You can also attend Sunday mass at the Hofburg Chapel so you can listen to the Vienna Boy's Choir sing - a tradition started in 1498, or simply buy a ticket to an orchestra concert.

You can even listen to the classical pieces of Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and other Austrian composers while watching the famous Lipizzaner horses perform dressage at its finest at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna or at a farm in Piber. If you're not a musical person, though, you can simply visit the houses where Mozart and his colleagues once lived. These places are now considered must-see attractions in Austria, particularly the Figaro House, where Mozart composed "The Marriage of Figaro".

Is "The Sound of Music" your family's favorite movie? If so, make sure you don't miss out on "The Sound of Music" Tour in Salzburg during your family holidays in Austria. You won't just get to see the Mirabell Gardens, Leopoldskron Castle and the Nonnberg Abbey where some of the movie's scenes were filmed. You're bound to learn something new about the movie, too.

Afterwards, it's time to feast your eyes on Austria's spectacular natural scenery. This can be done best by taking a cable car to Hafelekar in the mountainous Tirol region or by going on a hiking trip through the Austrian Alps. Not exciting enough? Then your trip to Austria must include a hang-gliding expedition from one of the mountain peaks for a more exhilirating experience.

Another way to experience the beautiful scenery during your family holidays in Austria is to go cycling. There are many scenic cycling routes in Austria, the most famous of which is the one along the beautiful river Danube.

Last but not least, your trip to Austria should include a visit to the Schonbrunn Palace. This historical landmark is a former royal summer residence, as well as Napoleon's headquarters during his Austrian campaign. There are other awe-inspiring castles and stunning baroque gardens to see, too.

Indeed, family holidays in Austria is guaranteed to be a feast for the eyes, ears and the heart. There is simply so much to see and do that even after going through all these, you're still sure to want to return for more.
