Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

How to Research the Best Park City Condos

By Barry Borenski

Many vacationers to the resort town of Park City Utah ask the question, "How do I find a place to stay"? While Park City does have a few brand name hotels like Marriott and Best Western, the majority of accommodations are made up of privately owned rentals.

Privately owned homes and condominiums are rented through property management companies as well as directly through the private owner. The ski resorts operate central reservations booking agencies and there are also some independent booking companies and lodging wholesalers. These booking agencies usually require property managers and private owners to pay them a commission of up to 25% for their services.

Experienced visitors often visit the Park City Chamber website to search for information on property managers who offer condos and homes for nightly rental. The chamber is a great resource but they only display the name of the property manager and the user has to search each manager's website individually and compare potential rentals from one site to the next.

Precisely because there are so many different companies offering rentals, many visitors end up booking through booking agencies or central reservations services. While making a reservation in this fashion definitely saves time; it is doubtful that you are getting the best deal possible since these companies have such high commissions built into the rental rate.

I recently became aware of a website called www.localtourist.com that specializes in connecting visitors with businesses in the Park City area. Local Tourist is an informational directory similar to the Park City Chamber; however, it allows you to search individual rentals and then contact the property manager directly. You are probably going to get a better deal since they don't take a commission like booking agencies.

Local Tourist doesn't just help you find accommodations; the site also allows you to search restaurants, and activity vendors as well. The website has an intuitive search functionality that allows users to search for restaurants not only by cuisine type but also by neighborhood, so it's easy to find the perfect restaurant close to where you are staying.

Restaurant search is quite a handy feature since Park City has over 100 restaurants within such a close proximity. Local Tourist does a great job with their restaurant search feature, but the Park City Chamber may have a larger number of restaurants listed as of the publication of this article. I recommend visiting both websites when planning your vacation to Park City, Utah.

Park City, Utah is one of the top ski destinations in the country and is a must visit if you are an avid skier. Even if you are not a skier or snowboarder, the town offers so many activities and dining options it is worth a visit. The destination is becoming increasingly popular in the summer due to the food and wine festivals, summer outdoor concert series, art festivals, and above all clean, crisp, mountain air. It really won't matter when you choose to visit; Park City will definitely provide a memorable vacation experience.
