Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

Hotels In Old Havana

By J. M. Maurette

At this stage you are probably looking for the best hotels in Havana to stay. I will highlight in this article few of the best hotels you can easily book online. If you are booking a holiday package most of these hotels will be offered by your travel agents.

Havana City is divided into 14 municipalities. The old town known as Habana Vieja is probably your best bet when it comes to choose the best location to stay in Havana. There are other 2 interesting places to stay such as Vedado and Miramar but they will be the subject of a future article,

I would concentrate in this article in the Old Town area also known by the locals as Habana Vieja. There are over 20 hotels in the Old Town and if you check other reviews about hotels in Havana you will find these 3 to be the best options in terms of standard of accommodation: 5 * Saratoga Hotel, 5* Parque Central Hotel and 4*+ Santa Isabel Hotel.

Other hotels worth staying are the boutique 4 star hotels in the Old Town. All managed by the leading Havana hotelier Habaguanex. The most relevant fact about these hotels is the fact that they were all built in the 18th Century and they all have a great deal of character.

Among these 4 star hotels worth mentioning Raquel Hotel and Condes de Villanueva. They have very good reviews. Their location can not be better and their architecture styles are simply astonishing.

There are cheaper options in the Old Town such as Comendador Hotel and Hostal Valencia. Both very charming palaces from the 17th Century with only 14 rooms each. They both feature the best restaurant for Spanish Tapas and Valencia Paella respectively.

The very cheapest hotels you can find in the Old Town are Caribbean Hotel and Lido Hotel. The room prices of these hotels are around 15 CUC per person per night. These hotels are suitable for tourists on a very tight budget.

Prices range from 15.00 CUC (Cuban Convertible Pesos) per person per night for the cheapest hotels to 80.00 CUC per person per night for the most expensive 5 star hotels. The 4 star hotels which I highly recommend can be booked online for around 50.00 CUC per person per night.
