Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

Pontoon Boats: Not Just For Fun!

By Chris Newman

I have seen people use pontoon boats for playtime and recreation, but now they are putting this floating pleasure palace to a more surprising use, would you ever think you can use a pontoon boat for hauling and pulling things? Oceanographers can use a pontoon boat in lieu of a larger watercraft so that they can get farther out into the oceans coral reefs, allowing them to take phenomenal photographs. Scientists can use smaller pontoon boats for various purposes as well, such as collecting data and studying animals for research. Some smaller fishing companies use a pontoon boat for their fishing crews, allowing them to take several employees out at the same time while saving money on the high costs of fuel and manpower it requires to operate a larger boat.

Scientists have tried to get close to whale pods to study their daily ocean habits, but with large vessels it is almost impossible. By using the inflated pontoons they can get very close to the pods by anchoring the pontoon and quietly studying them. Using the inflatable pontoon allows the scientist to draw closer to a colony of seals or sea lions where a larger boat would be viewed as a threat to these animals. By gently trolling a smaller pontoon boat the sea lions and seals are not as stressed out or feel threatened with the noise and commotion. As an invaluable tool, the inflatable pontoon can be used to meet the researchers needs.

While studying the water life, scientists will dart dolphins with a tag for monitoring and tracking to gather other data. In order to do this successfully a small craft like the inflatable pontoon boat is preferred. It is not uncommon for the dolphins to swim right next to the pontoon boat making darting and tagging so much easier. There are many animals that are less threatened by a smaller pontoon and dolphins are just one of them.

Scientists often like to go to a secluded island to study marine life, but have difficulty docking the large sea vessels safely. With the rocky underwater bottom, the rudders and motor can be torn apart when getting to close. Using an inflatable pontoon boat solves this problem. Accessing the inflatable pontoon takes about ten minutes to inflate and assemble, talk about convenient. With the pontoon assembled anyone who wants to proceed to the island and gather the information needed now has the opportunity. Making it so scientist can gather all the information they need and then troll back to the larger vessel without the hassle of destroying equipment. Once again another great example of the smaller pontoon in use and helps scientist gather information where they couldn't before with out a hassle.

Ocean photographers the world over often use the pontoon boats to go into rough waters, because they are lighter and easier to manage. In addition to ocean photography, a pontoon can also be used in the rain forest to troll through the dense forest to travel from point to point. It is because of the extreme versatility, rugged design and durability, that pontoons are now utilized for many reasons other than pleasure.
