Building An Authoritative Travel Blog

Authoritative blogs seem all the rage at the moment but what exactly is an " Authoritative Travel Blog ?" Well my understanding of the matter is it is a blog that is not only very informative to the readers but that the information comes from authoritative type people in connection with what they are writing about.

Hopefully my articles below will give an insight on travel and travel related experiences from all over the world from many authoritative writers as they have been there and done that.

Articles will be and are published often and this means current travel experiences and up to date places to visit. If you have also visited these places or wish to comment then please do so remembering this blog is intended to family orientated visitors so please be respectful.

I have seen many fears raised through my article site and feel that any traveller today that, for one reason or another, decides against travel insurance then they are possibly being a little short sighted. We do not want our boats to sink but are happy to carry life rafts. travel insurance is a similar idea. We do not wish to ever claim on it but if things go wrong as they sometimes do it is a benifit to have the insurance.

South Pacific Islands

By Jimmy Smith

The South Pacific is notorious for a lot more than being the title of a popular Broadway musical. Its also the location of fabulous tropical islands, Polynesian culture, world war two historical sites, coral reefs, volcanoes, and more. There are thousands of tropical islands in the area that make fabulous vacation destinations. Some of the most famous islands are Fiji, French Polynesia, The Cook Islands, and Micronesia.

With such a variety of places to pick from, there is a little bit over everything in the South Pacific. Many islands are so tiny they are only beach and a nearby coral reef. Other islands are so enormous they contain volcanoes, a lot of animals, and even canyons. For any lover of tropical beaches, there are many island options for the sun worshiper in you. Here are a list of some of the most famous and best islands in the area:

For those seeking adventure, Fiji remains the best island to choose from. This country has some 322 islands and less than a third are inhabited. Most of the action happens on the western islands. Fiji has excellent diving and Kadavu is one of Fiji's best dive sites. The more energetic can go trekking in the Nausori Highlands overlooking Nadi. Taveuni also offers good hiking in the Bouma National Heritage Parki.

French Polynesia is one of the best romantic island destinations in the area, if not the world. Tahiti is famous for its expensive resorts and spas. The resort bungalows are like you see in postcards- right over the water. In the morning, start off with a swim and finish your day with a romantic candlelight meal on the beach. Tahiti is built around romance and luxury. Whatever you desire, can happen here.

Vanautu lies just south of the Solomon Islands and is a great place to go that is off the beaten path. Underwater visibility is great here and there seems to be a limitless amount of schools of colorful fish as well as a lot of submerged WWII wreckages. Above sea level, the scenery only gets more amazing, with beautiful palm trees, white sand beaches, and a clear blue sky.

Visitors to Micronesia can enjoy spectacular diving, for example the many underwater wrecks in Chuuk. The ruins of Nan Madol in Pohnpei are also worth the trip, providing a fascinating view back to the 13th century Saudeleur dynasty who ruled there. Or if all you want to do is wind down, find a nice atoll and bask in the sunlight. It's the kind of place where you pack your watch away and forget about time for a while. Don't forget the sunscreen though.

Islands in the south pacific will always remain some of the best in the world. These locations offer some of the best beaches, best diving, best ocean on the planet. Besides beauty, they have great food, a rich and diverse island culture, and a good way of life. These islands are great to relax on or pamper yourself at. No matter what you want in a tropical island, the south pacific has it.
